Western Maharashtra is stunningly beautiful with many places that few outsiders know about. The narrow coast line has many lovely and untouched beaches and is bordered by the western ghats, a long chain of mountains.
Though the hill stations of Khandala, Lonavla, Panchgani, Mahableshwar and even Matheran are rather well known there are many hidden gems here which only the local populace enjoys or then adventurous youngsters from close by cities like Mumbai and Pune.
