This tiny photo journal features the 6th-century basilica of Sant'Apollinare in Classe, one of 8 buildings in Ravenna that were declared world heritage monuments by UNESCO in 1996. All 8 buildings, most of them basilicas, were constructed in the 5th & 6th centuries. [Ravenna was the seat of the Roman Empire in the 5th century & then of Byzantine Italy until the 8th century.
