The architect responsible for the excellent urban group drawn by Rajpath and Raisina Hill was sir Edwin Lutyens (1869-1944), who is considered among the greatest British architects of the XXth century after his work at New Delhi. He built too, in collaboration with Herbert Baker, the India Gate.
