Much of what is standing today was reconstructed from pieces found in the vicinity. The temples mostly date from the 6th & 5th centuries BCE* & were dedicated to such mythological figures as Apollo & Hera. (* means 'before the christian era', which is more politically correct than 'before Christ'.)
