You can see how close Greece & Tunisia are to Sicily & why both Arab & Greek cultures are well represented there. The Greeks created colonies in southern Italy & Sicily, especially on the east side. They eventually moved farther west in Sicily, & one of those colonies was in Selinus on the SW coast, which, as you can see, is just a hop, skip & a jump from Tunisia & their old enemies the Carthaginians.
