The red/blue/white sign on the building which looks as though it might refer to the BOATS on the other side of this building, in fact, as I discovered when we were given a copy of the Cyrilic alphabet, means no such thing. What in reality they do spell out are the following sounds: B = V, O = O, A(without the cross bar) = L, the upside down L =G, and the normal A = A Thus, the sign says VOLGA. Not very far from here begins the Moscow - Volga Canal. </div></nolayer></noembed>
