Only 9 columns were re-erected
Sightseeing in Sicily picture - The column count of this long narrow temple was 6 by 15. Of the 38 original columns, only 9 are standing today. They were re-erected in the 1920s by English captain Alexander Hardcastle, an amateur archaeologist who settled in Agrigento, excavated the temple, & built a villa for himself near the ruins. When he died, he willed his villa to the city of Agrigento.
