"Temple of Concordia" (430 BCE)
Sightseeing in Sicily picture - This large, impressive temple is not only one of the best-preserved temples surviving from Antiquity (pre Middle Ages), it is also one of the best-preserved Doric temples in the world, as well as one of the most perfect in proportion & style. It was erected around 430 BCE, ten years after the nearby Temple of Juno. In fact, its plan & column count are identical to the Juno temple. Sitting high on the rocky ridge, the Temple of Concordia is located in a setting that is unique in the world. Three of the temples are floodlit at night & this one must be a sight to behold.
