<noembed><nolayer><div style="position:absolute; left:0; top:-100; display:none;"> Uncovered ovens<br> Sightseeing in Sicily picture - are visible in the foreground on the left. They were used to heat the steam &#38; warm baths. The the ovens were uncovered so visitors could see the internal structure of the ovens. Other rooms which we didn&#146;t see included a gym with one of the best contemporary depictions in the world of Circus Maximus &#38; the horse races that were held there. There was a cold bath room with access to a plunge pool. The small anointment room was where bathers would be anointed with perfumed oils after hot baths. The internal latrine was a semicircular room with marble benches along the walls, over a channel with a continuous flow of water, the first &#147;flush toilets.&#148; A shallow water channel in front of the benches had sponges attached to sticks for patrons to wipe themselves &#38; share (yuk.......). </div></nolayer></noembed>
