Greek or Roman?

There is some debate about when the theater was actually erected & who built it. Was it the Greeks or Romans? Some say it was built by the Greeks around the middle of the 3rd century. Since it was mostly built of brick, others say it was erected by Roman engineers using a Greek plan. But the general consensus is that the theater was rebuilt by the Romans over the original Greek theater.
