who took refuge in Sorrento during the Lombard invasions & became the city's patron saint. I could not find much information about this saint. He was born in Campagna, a town near Salerno, came to Sorrento & died there in 471 or maybe 830 (both years show up in my research). He was abbot of the Benedictine monastery at Saint Agrippo for a time & apparently performed miracles. He is also the patron saint of navigators. Please see the intro text for a little more background information about the Campania region & Sorrento.
