A short trip by a region of France at summer is becoming to us a nice habit. We do it by car accompanied by some friends, and it's like a "warming" for the longer trip we like to do later in the year. In the trip from last year, we spend two nights at Nîmes and then one week in a beautiful "gîte" at the village of Chambost-Longessaigne, in the Haut Loire department. We had the opportunity to take a look on the Beaujolais region, as well to visit the city of Lyon and some other cities placed on the mountain range known as Chain du Puys.

Le Puy-en-Velay was one of these cities, and we found it so beautiful that we decided to show at Worldisround a few of the pictures we took there. The old city makes a beautiful group, and holds a true jewell of the romanesque art, such is the cathedral of Nôtre Dame du Puy. Though all in this church is excellent, the cloister is in special a true and rare masterpiece of the European Middle Age. In addition, the chapel of St Michel, on the top of the huge rock known as Rocher de l'Aiguilhe, was an amazing surprise.

Le Puy is quite well known among the French people, but not so well among foreigners, and we have to state here that it really deserves a visit.
