In the northern reaches of the Bronx, between Broadway on the west, and Woodlawn on the eastern side, extending to the Westchester County line, there is Van Cortland Park. Once part of the Van Cortland estate, when the Dutch ruled New York, the property stretched to what is now Croton, New York. Urban Park Rangers, give walking tours, but these photos were taken on walks alone in this urban wilderness area.
