Nima Arkani Hamed is a leading Iranian-American theoretical physicist with interests in high-energy physics, string theory and cosmology. He was born in 1972 in the U.S. to Iranian parents (Both of them also physicists) He was a Professor of Physics at Harvard University from 2002-2008, and is now on the Faculty at the Institute for Advanced Study. Nima Arkani Hamed has recieved much attention in the media and the world of science for his revolutionary ideas about the way the universe works, which will finally be put to the test this year at Switzerland's Large Hadron Collider, which will be the world's most powerful particle accelerator.
