Bagan (formerly Pagan) is located in central Myanmar about 90 miles southwest of Mandalay. It is an important archeological site with over 2500 temples and stupas. It was an ancient capital of several kingdoms. An interesting market and a pleasant small city.

The local women make a paste of sandalwood and use it as a sunscreen. The children are more creative. Head coverings are very inventive ranging from straw hats to towels.
