The Roundhouse
Towns in Somerset picture - This Roundhouse (One of only four in the country) was built in 1779 by Mr. W. Clark for £23 as a temporary prison or lock-up. It is 7 feet in diameter and 10 feet high with two iron grills for ventilation. In 1884 it was repaired as a result of a subscription of one shilling and in 1922 the Lord of the Manor, Sir Henry Hoare Bart J.P. presented it to the Parish Council.
