I can't remember the name of the hotel & didn't write it down, sorry. That's the van (not the Hummer tee hee)that we used to get back to Vientiane. Phonsavan (pop. 57,000), the new capital of Xieng Khouang Province, is a new town that was created in the mid 1970s after the old capital (Muang Khoun) was totally destroyed during the Vietnam war. (More on that topic in the introductory text.) Hence all the ‘new’ buildings here.
