<noembed><nolayer><div style="position:absolute; left:0; top:-100; display:none;"> The SOS Orphanage school<br> Sightseeing in Northern Laos picture - across the street, is part of the large orphanage &#39;village&#39; located here. It is one of the largest orphanages in Laos. (The SOS Program is an international organization that provides aid to orphans world wide.) The orphanage &#34;village&#34; is a cluster of 12 houses where the orphans who attend the school live. There are currently 120 orphans living in the village &#38; 800 children attending the school (being an orphan is not a requirement to attend school). Each building houses 10 children &#38; a &#34;mom&#34;, typically a childless women from the community. Many but not all of the orphans lost their parents to UXO (unexploded ordinance left after the &#145;war&#146;). Volunteers &#38; donations are welcome. (The donations are recorded in a log book &#38; receipts are provided.)
