Chaffey Dam lies on the edge of The Fossickers Way, 16Km to the north of Nundle and 44Km south of Tamworth.

Its prime purpose is to reguate the flow of the Peel River and to augment the water supply to the city of Tamworth.

Chaffey has a storage capacity of 62,000 megalitres over 600 Hectares of land submerged. It has a maximum water depth of 60 metres and a dam wall height of 54 metres. ... (more)

Hi Pattie (answers to your questions)
Yes, you can camp here, we were camping here when I took these pictures. And yes you can fish here. The caravan you can see in the picture is ours, it is right by the water. You can also put up a tent if you wish. The water level was at 100% when we were there in March 2009. There is no caravan park. There is fresh water available for drinking, a hot shower for $1 and flush toilets (depending on where you camp how close to these you would be). You need to be self sufficient for your power though. Great place to camp, loved it. Probably the hardest thing is to find a level place to camp. Cost is $2 per person per day with an honesty box system.

Hi .. Is it possible to fish here .. and can you camp by the water .. also, what's the water level like? Notice the picture of c'van .. is there a c'van park? Love the sunset pictures. Looks like a place I'd like to see.
