The jeeps took us across the Sea of Sand before arriving at the parking area of Mt Bromo. From the drop-off point to the base of Bromo’s cone, visitors have the options to either take a leisurely walk or ride on a horse, before climbing up the staircases that lead to the peak of Mt Bromo to the crater’s rim. I guess it was a right choice for us to ride on horses as walking on the soft volcanic ash ground is not that easy. Also, the horse ride also saved us some energy for the last part before reaching the edge of the crater, where there are another about 250 steep steps waiting for us.
