After watching the sunrise, we proceeded to Mt Bromo. It was not really a tough hike this time as there were horses that took us from the drop-off point across the Sea of Sand b4 climbing up the steps leading to the peak of the Bromo Crater at 2329m above sea level. There are about 250 steps. The peak offers a very awesome view.
Upon descending from Mt Bromo, we headed to the savannah. According to our tour guide, the savannah used to be a large crater lake previously. But now it is left with a large piece of flat land surrounded by mountains. When I was there, I find myself like enjoying the marvelous view in the middle of nowhere. Thats just too spectacular for words. However, this is again another unfortunate day - it was very misty for clear pictures :-(
