<noembed><nolayer><div style="position:absolute; left:0; top:-100; display:none;"> img_5237 copy<br> Attractions &#38; Amusements in Florida picture - Feb/March. 2009 In 1848 a hurricane destroyed much of the coast line of the long narrow Island strip off the coast of central Florida stretching from Clearwater Beach to St. Pete&#39;s Beach. At that time there were only two passes through this strip to the Gulf of Mexico. One being Clearwater Pass and, one much further south called Blind Pass. When the hurricane passed, it created another pass north of Blind Pass. This was discovered by a man named John LeVeque. They later named it after him(John&#39;s Pass). Some say he was also a pirate. </div></nolayer></noembed>
