We reached the Czech Republic border via Austrian Route 126 north from Bad Leonfeld, which is about 20 miles north of Linz. At the border, the route number changes to Czech Route 161. Just past the border, there is a rest area/store. We confirmed with the staff here (German is spoken, but no English) that the roads we planned to drive did not require possession of a vignette.
