<noembed><nolayer><div style="position:absolute; left:0; top:-100; display:none;"> Looking West from Denniston.<br> New Zealand picture - Denniston was a remote coal mining town high up in the hills north of Westport. The only way to get up to the mine was up the Denniston Incline, a super-steep railway system which brought the coal down to the bottom of the hill and supplies and people up to the mine. A whole town existed there, with some of the settlers never leaving from the day they arrived until their death. The journey up and down the incline was extremely dangerous and several people lost their lives whilst trying to ascend or descend. There is now a very good road up this hill and the ruins are fascinating to explore. </div></nolayer></noembed>
