The Penang Floral Festival 2009 was opened to the public on 31st. May. Themed Colourful World Of Flowers, this years' event was officiated by Toh Puan Hjh. Majimor, consort of Penang's TYT. The orchid exhibition and competition is organized by The Federation Of Malaya Orchid Society, FOMOS. Behind the scene work actually started two weeks before the opening ceremony, while discussions and meetings was held as early as January.FOMOS played a leading role in assisting the Penang Botanical Garden in organizing PFF 2009 and help to promote local tourism industry. Thousands of visitors visited and thronged the floral fair. Thousands of potted plants of various verities were offered for sale by nursery owners who had taken up sales booths during this annual event.
