The trip to Kelantan the Land of Full Moon was an eye opener for some. Being an Islamic opposition state in Malaysia, the Land of Full Moon is the state where many foreigners shy away from visiting. Let me show you otherwise. Let me show you the new temples that were being built during the tenure of the opposition.. Lets visit the state and learn a thing or two.

These were the chronology of our visit there.

Our first stop was the hot spring along the East West Highway. Admission is free. As we came out of the highway, we were greeted with a massive limestone outcrop. It was Gunung Reng. There was a legendary cave at Gunung Reng.

We proceeded toward Pasir Mas and using some small country road, we came to a unique Siamese Temple of architecture beauty-Wat Uttaraman. The sculptures and colours were great. Not much tourists come here as you can hardly find the information in the brochures.

Next, we passed thru paddy fields and village houses with stilts and came to the longest Reclining Buddha in South East Asia.

We put up the night at Pantai Sri Tujuh. It was the beach with 7 bays. Heavy erosion and sandbars were common sights. The malay saying of with each flooding, the landscape changes how truth, as the sight of the beach changes every year! Come here and enjoy the scenery.

We dropped by at a small town called Tumpat for some food and found some chicken wondering along the street. Slow pace and peaceful living I would envy

Then, we visit more temples. Of course we did skip a few as we were running short of time. You will appreciate some of the sculptures resembling some liking to those of Angkor Wat.

A must visit is the Central Market at Kota Bharu. An innocent looking local girl and her little brother can wonder freely here. Well, it would not be wise for little girl and boy to be left alone in our west coast of Peninsular Malaysia.

PCB, the famous beach of Passionate Love (formerly known) is now called Pantai Cahaya Bulan (Beach of Moonlight). We stayed the night here.

We continued along the coast toward south. Pantai Sabak, known for the famous Japanese landing during the Second World War. Here, many ladies have features of Japanese eyes and fair skin. Alas, heavy erosion had taken toil. Hardship caused to many when houses were destroyed by mother nature

There were more temples and there were the biggest sitting Buddha, the standing Buddha, the longest dragon temple and etc. Our trip continued and we came to more beaches. There were more beautiful scenery and we could not help when we were so near Trengganu. We popped into Bkt Keluang, a hilly outcrop along the northern coast of Trengganu bordering Kelantan.

We wrapped up our trip by visiting two waterfalls Jeram Pasu and Jeram Lenang. What a refreshing trip.
