The Dominican Republic is one of the greater Antilles in the Caribbean. The Island is divided by Haiti and the Dominican Republic, which occupies 2/3 of the Island. The first pat developed for Tourism was Puerto Plata up in the north of the Dominican Republic. Bavaro - Puntat Cana came later. The Hotels here are mostly AI and the place where developed out off nothing. The name Punta Cana is actually only the area around the air port.
