The single cells were on the lower floor, the women were on the 2nd floor in individual cells, & the mass cells, where large groups of men were shackled together, were on the 3rd floor. The 2 storey wing on the left was where the interrogation rooms were. This notorious S-21 prison & interrogation facility, a former high school, was converted into a prison in August 1975, four months after Pol Pot & the Khmer Rouge won the civil war.
