Its 17 million acres comprise much of Southeast Alaska. The dominant species of trees here are the Sitka Spruce, whose tips we munched on, Western Hemlock (not related to poison hemlock), and Alder. We took a guided hike in this forest near Juneau and the Mendenhall Glacier. </div></nolayer></noembed>
