This massive glacier rises 250 feet above the water, taller even than our vast cruise ship. It continues about 100 feet below the water, and twenty miles back to the Fairweather range, and, for good measure, is a good mile long. Because of the danger of calving bergs, all vessels are required (or suggested, I'm not sure) to stay a quarter of a mile away.
