Entry to Rwanda was a challenge. I hit trouble as the transport on the way through the border was absolutely terrible and I missed the 4 o'clock Friday deadline for the bank in Kigali. Having given myself six hours to get from the Ugandan border to the capital, only one hour away according to the Lonely Planet, I found myself in an infuriarating endless succession of minibus (matutu) stops as the driver insisted on loitering every time a passenger got off so that he could maximise his intake.
