<noembed><nolayer><div style="position:absolute; left:0; top:-100; display:none;"> ISTANA KENANGAN (Old Palace)<br> Sightseeing in Perak picture - is now the Perak Royal Museum. Located at Bukit Chandan, just a short distance from Istana Iskandariah &#38; the Ubudiah Mosque, it was originally built in 1926 as the residence &#38; temporary mausoleum for Sultan Iskandar Shah, the 30th Perak Sultan (r1918-1938) while awaiting the completion of Istana Iskandariah (the current royal palace). This unique wooden palace was built without a blueprint or a single nail. The entire building is painted in the 3 official colors of the Perak flag representing the 3 branches of the royal family - white, yellow &#38; black. The palace walls are made of woven sliced bertam or bamboo in diamond shaped motifs. The Museum exhibits the history of the monarchy &#38; houses the heritage of Perak State. Visitors can view the personal collections of the sultans who once governed the state of Perak, as well as photograph collections of members of the royal families of the past. </div></nolayer></noembed>
