From a starting point at the Balnarring Beach car park, I did a 4 km beachwalk, which took me to Somers Beach and return. This included the interesting Suspension Bridge over the Merricks Creek, adjacent to the School Camp, and a foray along the Boardwalk and Footbridge into the Coolart Wetlands.

Merricks Creek enters the Bay at Somers, and is very wide at this point, with strong tidal flows.
