mb7 - The amazing 27 meter-long lobby
Sightseeing in Vancouver picture - is two storeys high. It's a masterpiece, especially the intricate plasterwork on the upper walls. It is the main focal point with a huge variety of sea creatures carved into the walls & brass doors. Even the clocks numerals are represented by sea creatures. Since transportation was also an important theme, carvings of zeppelins, aircraft, ships and trains were also incorporated into the details. The ceiling has decorative plasterwork that must be seen. There's an interesting slide show here about the plasterwork process: http://www.italdecorltd.com/gallery/slideshow.php?set_albumName=album14
