The Battle of Blenheim was fought on Aug. 13, 1704 on the north bank of the Danube near a small village called Blenheim, Bavaria. The battle was fought between the victorious alliance of Britain, Austria, & the United Province versus the defeated French & Bavarian troops. *The battle was the 1st defeat for the mighty French after 50 long years of domination in Europe! (The French was the world's superpower back in the 17th-18th.) The battle then saved Vienna from French invasion.
