- There's this beautiful, square pond & vast green lake at the back of the palace. *The Battle of Blenheim totalled 52,000 allied troops versus 60,000 French-Bavarian troops. Hence, the French-Bavarian army outnumbered the Brits & their allies by 8,000 more men. Still, the allies won compliments of John Churchill & Prince Eugene's brilliance while the French military leader [Tallard] himself was taken prisoner.
