In 2006, we toured Eastern Europe and one of our most poignant stop was at the Auschwitz Concentration Camp. Having taught Anne Frank in my Literature lessons for years, I've always wanted to pay a visit to Auschwitz personally so I can bring back some photos and anecdotes for my students. This trip enhanced my perspective of the magnitude of the war crimes committed by the Nazis during the Holocaust and I pained for each atrocity that was commited on this ground to our fellow mankind.
