Laurance S. Rockefeller donated over 3,000 acres of land to Teton National Park which had been the Rockefeller family retreat known as the JY Ranch. Since 2004 the buildings and roads have been removed and the land reclaimed to nature. Now this area is known as the Laurance S. Rockefeller Preserve. The parking lot is small, to limit the number of visitors at one time, though there is a lot of bicycle parking. There was about a 10 minute wait before a parking place was available.
