La Fortuna is a small but pretty town in the San Carlos valley of Costa Rica. The town is right in the foothill of the Arenal Volcano - one of the few active volcanos of Costa Rica. Mild eruptions happen there quite frequently. Lucky tourists often get an awesome view of the softly glowing lava flow.
