In conjunction with Baba Floral Fest 2009, The Federation Of Malaya Orchid Society, Penang (FOMOS) was invited to organize an orchid show and competition at Queensbay Mall (car park), Penang from 5th December to 13th December 2009 with the aim of promoting orchids and other oremental plants to the general public. The response for the orchid show was way beyond our exception, with participants from as far as Perlis, up north to Kuala Lumpur taking part. Over 30 stalls, selling many varieties of orchid plants, accessories as well as oremental plants are set up to enable the public to buy whatever plants or items they want. In the absence of the state tourism chairman, YB Danny Law, who had to attend a function overseas, the event was officially opened on 6th December by YB Phee. This orchid show also sees the last orchid show participated by FOMOS this year. With year 2010 just around the corner, we hope to participate and organize more activities for our members in the coming new year.
