The landscape of Mewar is mainly dominated by the hills of Aravalli Range, which surrounds almost completely the valley of Udaipur. These hills are still quite forestry, and harbour four natural protected areas: Jaisamand, Kumbhalgarh and Bassi Wildlife Sanctuaries, and Sitamata Game Sanctuary.
