The Château Frontenac was built in 1893 was part of a construction project for the Canadian Pacific Railway. The hotel hosted the 1943 Quebec Conference where Winston Churchill and FDR discussed plans for winning WWII. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, it is the most photographed hotel in the world. Named after Louis de Buade, the Count of Frontenac, who was Governor of New France in the late 17th century. The hotel is operated by the Fairmont Hotels.
