On May 2nd, 2010 Clara took me on a hike with the UC Berkeley Phonology Lab (and friends). We started on the campus, ascended to a ridge on Grizzly Peak via Strawberry Canyon and descended via Claremont Canyon, returning to the streets of Berkeley and back to campus. The views of the Bay, Marin and Oakland were spectacular. We found our third variety of local wild orchid (Epipactis helleborine) and our first columbines of the season. There were some steep, rocky, slippery descents, but nothing too bad or arduous.
