On Saturday May 8th, 2010 I took a Sierra Club hike up Mission and Monument Peaks. We started East of the peaks in the Sunol Regional Wilderness and quickly crossed into the San Francisco Water District's lands as well as the Mission Peak Regional Preserve. The fifteen mile hike gained about three thousand feet of elevation, but the pace was leisurely and, save for a moment here and there, the hike felt gentle.
