When Jews were permitted to move outside the ghetto in Josefov in the middle of the 19th century, most of the buildings on Maisolova Street, one of the two main thoroughfares through the Jewish Quarter, were torn down & replaced by many buildings constructed with Art Nouveau facades to replace the medieval buildings that once stood along the historic street.
