Here's Alan Bates with one of the bicycles he used on one of his epic rides, this one sponsored by Singha Beer. He holds all sorts of records. Chiang Mai to Bangkok 760km in 26hrs; Phuket to Bangkok 900km in little more than 29hrs, and around the world--18,000 miles--in 114 days.
