(in swapped RGB channels). Vasco de Quiroga, the 1st bishop, had wanted 5 naves, but that was nixed by the Spanish Crown so only one nave was built. The church served as the diocese Cathedral until 1850 when that function was moved to Valladolid (now Morelia). The church was then designated a basilica by papal decree in 1907.
