In July, 2011, I visited my long-time friend Tasha. She moved to Silver City, New Mexico from Arizona about six years ago. But I had not been to her house before this trip. We hiked in the nearby forest, did a couple other short walks near her house and also went to a farmers' market downtown while I was there. The farmers' market is every Saturday; there is a great variety of home grown vegetables for sale.

Silver City is almost 5,900 feet above sea level (ASL). So the weather was cool and it rained during two of the days I was visiting. It was quite a treat! Back in Tucson, I would have been sweating. You can read more about Silver City at their Chamber of Commerce website: http://www.silvercity.org.
