This photo journal, part of the Debrecen series, features Nagyerdei Park (Nagyerdő means great forest) located on the northern outskirts of the city. The 2280 hectare city park, aka the Lung of Debrecen, is home to the main campus of Debrecen University & medical school. There is a lake & a pond. Because sulphur springs were found in the area many years ago, there are also thermal baths & spas. There's also a zoo/amusement park complex, a soccer stadium, sports fields including tennis courts, & apparently a skating rink in the winter.
