We were driving through a brushy area and my daughter asked our guide if we might see a cheetah. He said, "Not in this area. They like the open country, where they have room to run." Less than 30 seconds later this cheetah appeared by the side of the road. Even the best guide, and ours was, can't always predicte how animals are going to behave.
